Hello lovely blog readers!
Where did the summer go? It seems just a few short weeks ago I was having some fun in the sun with my family. Anyways….
I have been quiet on the blog this week, I know. Life is happening and I am keeping pace with it and taking it all in stride. Life is good busy, but look, it can sometimes get in the way of my blogging and managing Bloggers Mag. It is a challenge to balance it all as a working single mom, but I am doing a damn good job at it thanks to the amazing inner strength I inherited from my mother and valuable upbringing and teachings of my grandparents. (RIP gramps—all three of you). Anyway, didn’t meant to get a sad there. It’s just I miss them sometimes. When I play with my daughter or read to her or whatever, I wish my grandparents were here to meet her but I know they are looking down on us and hope they are proud of the young woman + mother I have become.
So back to being busy…work has been especially busy for me this week. There are a lot of moving parts with my job. I am in the middle of creating a strategic marketing launch plan for our new service offering, streamlining our existing sales and marketing collateral structure, updating our existing collateral, planning for an upcoming lunch and learn event, working on new enhancements to our newly re-launched website, put together and present a 2013 marketing communications planning document, and the list goes on. And on top of all my daily duties, as part of the management team, I have to read a book. This month, the management team is readying The 4 Disciplines of Execution: Achieving Your Wildly Important Goals by Chris McChesney, Sean Covey, Jim Huling. It is a fantastic book and if you can, pick up a copy. It basically talks about how to identify your Wildly Important Goals, or WIGs and how to successfully identify lead measures to achieve your goals, including how to execute those goals without getting lost in the whirlwind. Yes, these are principles we already know, right, but the way the authors present the information helps the reader to really zero in on the important WIGs by staying focus, identifying priorities, learning to say NO all so you can be successful at whatever it is that you do.
If I haven’t said this before, let me say it: I absolutely LOVE my job. I am a young executive by all account. My boss has told me that he’s hired me to groom me into becoming an executive leader. For this to happen, my boss gives me all the tools that I need to be successful at my job (iPad, iPad mini, SEO Handbook, management books, etc.). So when he bought me this book I was not surprise at all. I am so incredibly lucky to be part of this company and to have a boss who believes in me and is in my corner is way more than I could’ve asked for.
So as you can see friends, my plate is full and so are the ideas I have for doing what I do best—writing and discovering new things and ways to put the spotlight on people and things I love. One of those ideas + passion is bloggers. I love meeting and getting to know fellow bloggers online. I truly believe in the things they stand for and I’m a huge supporter of great, positive and passionate people. If you’re new to Sweet|Lemon™ blog then you’re probably not familiar with BloggersMag™. Check out the blog, follow and share the content. I am looking for editors, contributors, and bloggers to feature. I have tons of idea for growing the blog and need your help. I get tons of brands approaching me for advertising and giveaways but I turn them down because I just don’t have time in my very busy schedule to manage this thing along. So if you’re interested or know someone who is, please let me know, or ask them to e-mail me directly. Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
Finally, since it’s Thursday, I’d like to do a throwback and have some pictures to share with you from the summer. My little family and I love the park. We never miss a chance to take our little girl, and every now and then a picnic by the water. Oh, how fun!
Ah, memories. I can’t get enough!
Have a fantastic day every!
